About the comic
Of Biblical Proportions is a fresh, new comic strip that depicts Biblical quotations and stories with modern, humorous twists. The cartoon was conceived and created by NY-based cartoonist Chari Pere, who graduated valedictorian of the School of Visual Arts in 2007 with a B.F.A. in Cartooning. She has won numerous awards and fellowships, including an Emerging Jewish Artist Fellowship from NYU’s Bronfman Center, the PresenTense Institute for Creative Zionism Fellowship in Jerusalem, and the 2008 Jerusalem Post’s New Cartoonist Contest. Her published works include MAD Magazine, two coloring books for LearningAboutDiabetes.org, The Girls’ Guide to Guys Stuff, The Jerusalem Post, PresenTense Magazine, and A Yearly Shpritz of Jewish Bits: The Ultimate Illustrated Calendar of Jewish Humor (Old & New).
